Do not Beat Your Woman In Lagos Or Else You Go To Jail

This is for all men that feel like 'Power Uti' when it come to them and their wives.Lagos State has raised the bar by enacting a new Domestic Violence Law. It is now an offence in Lagos to beat woman and it doesn't matter whether you two are legally married or live-in lover, as long as you are living together in a home setting.

According to the deputy governor of Lagos State, Hon.  Joke Orelope-Adefulire, the new Domestic Violence Law protects women who are most times the target of violence in the home and also safeguards the interest of men, children, servants, maids and everyone who may be a victim of domestic violence.

Here's what happens when there's a case of domestic violence:

  •  Remove the abuser from the home pending when the abuse is corrected
  •  Or remove the complainant from the residence and put in a protective home
  •  Provision of financial assistance by the state via the Office of the Public Defender/Legal Aid Council to victims of abuse who maybe financially unable to seek redress in court.
  •  The court can issue warrant of arrest and remand order
*My question is what happen to wives that beat their husband, I need an answer.*
